Exchange Send Connectors and sub domains smarthost

Hi All,

We are migrating to another exchange system and changing from the sub domain of our root domain to the root e.g. sub1.domain.com to domain.com

We currently have a 2003/2010 exchange organisation with sub1.domain.com in the accepted domains and moving to a 2007 exchange organisation with domain.com for the accepted domain.

We are looking at setting up send connectors on the 2003 and 2010 server with *.domain.com but have concerns that our currently accepted domain sub1.domain.com will not be delivered locally and sent over the send connector if we setup the send connector with *.domain.com for example.

Is the send connector with *.domain.com for the address space ignored if we have sub1.domain.com as an accepted domain in the exchange organisation? I have seen in 2010 you have to include sub domains tick box (which we need to do).

Thanks

Rich

Thanks Rich
