Hi,
We have an Exchange server which handles the organization casual mails, its domain is "something.com". Additionally, we have some custom crm application which is installed on an external dedicated server, this application embodies some SMTP component
which receives emails that are targeted to the domain "crm.something.com". Emails to the CRM server can come from internal sender or from the internet.
I'm tasked to configure Exchange to forward all mails for the sub-domain "crm.something.com" to the crm server. Can u kindly approve that these are the required steps? any other important considerations?
1. Add MX record - a new MX record should be added for "crm.something.com" and point to the same IP as "something.com"
2. Add send connector - define an internal send connector for the address space "crm.something.com" + also add "crm.something.com" as a smarthost
3. Add accepted domain - define "crm.something.com" as an internal, NOT authoritative relay.
Thanks!
Yonatan
