Help with Edge

Hey guys,

I have not used Edge before and am looking for some guidance.

I have set up an Exchange server over the weekend and it is now working great (outlook, mobile devices, and OWA all work). Until I convince all our staff to migrate over from our company email hosted on Gmail, I am serving our email from 2 places. Gmail and Exchange

(changing names for example purposes)

spot 1: randy@randycompany.com on Gmail

spot2: randy @outlook.randycompany.com on Exchange

Obviously you cannot host the same exact domain in 2 spots and the above was my work-around. The email accounts still exist on our company's gmail host, they all have forwards to the exchange server. Those who don't want to use exchange, their email is forwarded to their gmail hosted account.

The problem is, I know people will complain that their outbound email looks different than before. Even though they can receive email from either address.

What I have been reading is Edge is capable of doing a rewrite so that when someone sends an email from exchange it goes out of exchange as @outlook.randycompany.com and then edge changes it to @randycompany.com

I have made the change via command line to Edge and it appears to have accepted that. What I can't seem to do it get Exchange to forward outbound emails to the Edge server.

I have done a lot of Googling and I cannot seem to find a clear step by step guide for doing this with 2013. Right now I have a send connector working out of Exchange to the world. I guess I need to disable that and have it point to the Edge install, and then for edge to accept the mail, do the rewrite, and then forward on to the world.

Right now I am not worried about inbound mail flowing through Edge.

Can someone please help me out or point me to a good tutorial?
