After many suggestions (that didn't fix the issue) I found a post that recommended logging. I enabled it and now I'm getting (on the Exchange 2013 server [a Server 2012 R2 machine]) the following Kerberos erros:

A Kerberos error message was received:
 on logon session CORPDOM.LOCAL\Exch-13$
 Client Time:
 Server Time: 19:17:27.0000 3/17/2014 Z
 Error Code: 0x6 KDC_ERR_C_PRINCIPAL_UNKNOWN
 Extended Error:
 Client Realm:
 Client Name:
 Server Realm: CORPDOM.LOCAL
 Server Name: krbtgt/CORPDOM.LOCAL
 Target Name: krbtgt/CORPDOM.LOCAL@CORPDOM.LOCAL
 Error Text:
 File: e
 Line: d3f
Error Data is in record data.

Since this has to do with authentication this could be the problem stopping this from working. Unfortunately I cannot find help on this error code.

Scenario: Upgraded old 2003 domain to Server 2012 R2 x64 server, promoted said server to PDC (and all other FSMO roles), demoted old 2003 DC and removed it from the LAN. New server is also primary DNS server. Installed second Server 2012 R2 and installed Exchange 2013. Been wrestling with getting Exchange 2013 server to send email internally OR externally. Both fail. Can this be why? What are the possible fixes???
