Emails getting set as Pending with no reason!

$
0
0
I have had this in the past but cant find out a script that will tell me X Emails is set to Pending because!
We have users missing emails because exchange wanted to set emails as Pending?

I have run the following and there are 7 Pending emails how do I expand this information: -

[PS] $msg = Search-MessageTrackingReport -Identity *UsersEmail* -Recipients *FromEmail* -By
passDelegateChecking
[PS] $msg | %{ Get-MessageTrackingReport -Identity $_.MessageTrackingReportId -BypassDelegateCheckin
g }

I would like some thing like Pending due to Disk Space, Due to Permissions, just saying Pending dose not help resolve the issue to fix something that should never be set to Pending!

Hi All,

I have Hosted Exchange 2013 (1CAS and 1MBS) with the following domains. I already have an SMTP Send connector to route all mails (*) to a smart host.

DomainA.com

DomainB.com

DomainC.com

Now my requirement is - : I need to create an internet SMTP connector to route only mails from DomainC.com to use MX. How can it be configured or please let me know any other alternatives/best way.

Basically DomainC.com is for bulk emails, i need to outbound them through different IP.

Vinod

550 5.7.1 Command not allowed

We are having issues with several things at the moment in Exchange 2013.

One particular outside email address is returning the following code when replying to an email from within the organization:

<<< 550 5.7.1 Command not allowed 554 5.0.0 Service unavailable

The second issue is related as it pulls a similar code.  When one particular user sends an email from her account, or an attached account to a third specific account, she gets the following message:

Diagnostic code = SubmissionProhibited; Reason code = TransferFailed; Status code = 571

            < #5.7.1 smtp;550 5.7.1 Command not allowed>

No other user has issues sending to that account.

The third message happened once today, and is sporadic.  When another user emails a specific group, she gets returned with: Your message can't be delivered because delivery to this address is restricted.

We've had some SMTP issues in the past where it would intermittently not send a message, but I don't know if its related, or how to fix it.  Any suggestions?

Email cannot send to some domains(error message: 451 4.4.2 Connection dropped due to Socket Error)

We have an Exchange 2010 but could not able to send emails to some domains only.

Checked on some posts but could not find the solution. Pls help on this

Same Message-ID assigned (and messages dropped as duplicates)

$

Setup: Exchange server is used as MTA (accepting messages sent over SMTP).

Problem: when there are several messages from the same From: and same To:,  sent in quick succession (several times a second - these are automated alerts from monitoring software), same Message-ID is assigned to several messages and some of them are dropped by Exchange as duplicates.

Sender is not receiving any error code from MTA. Messages are discarded silently.

Is this a known behavior, and how it should be handled? Generating Message-ID on sender side is out of question (there's no control over that). AFAIK, MTA inserts Message-ID header if that is missing.

Thanks

Shared mailbox slow to replicate changes

Hi,

We have 2 Exchange 2013 with DAG.

Clients run Outlook 2007 and 2010's

On a shared mailbox (not sure if it happens on all) any changes are very slow to propagate to other users.

If I move a folder into another it may not replicate or may take up to 20 minutes on the other machine. Sometimes restarting outlook fixes it but not very ofen.

If I disable cached mode on both machines it is instant!

Tried renaming the OST files and it solves the problem for a brief moment... but once the OST is full the problem happens again... its almost as the machines are doing the updates into their local OST and the server but the other client does not get it...

New Exchange 2013 server added to Exchange 2010 environment won't send or receive email

Hi!

I've added an Exchange 2013 server to our Exchange 2010 environment, and it does not seem to be able to send or receive mail. It can definitely communicate with the Exchange 2010 server- I've successfully migrated mailboxes from the 2010 server to 2013- I just can't send any mail there. I've set up the Send and Receive Connectors on the 2013 server, and they're configured pretty much identically to the connectors on our 2010 box.

Messages sent from an account on the 2013 server simply sit in the drafts folder. Looking at the logs on that server, I don't see anything happening at all. For example, the logs at ~\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\Logs\FrontEnd\ProtocolLog\SmtpSend and SmtpReceive haven't been updated since the initial install of Exchange. No logs have yet been created under ~\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\Logs\Hub\ProtocolLog\SmtpSend and SmtpReceive.

On our 2010 server, messages I try to send to a mailbox on the 2013 server get stuck in the queue with the error presented being451 4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with:
"421 4.4.2 Connection dropped due to SocketError." There shouldn't be anything preventing communication on the 2013 server- no antivirus running, and I've got the firewall disabled while I troubleshoot this issue.

Additionally, DNS seems to be working fine on both machines. Both can resolve the other's name, and addresses on the internet.

Just for background, our environment consists of a single Exchange 2010 server at version 14.3 (Build 123.4) and a single Exchange 2013 server at Version 15.0 (Build 847,32).

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Some mail that has SCL: 9 are not all going to 'Junk Email' folder. Most are, but some slip through. There are several organizations on this exchange system, and this is happening to all users.

Get-OrganizationConfig for SCLJunkThreshold is '4'

SCLJunkEnabled for users is 'Yes'

Any else having problems with the Edge Transport Servers?

$

I have two Edge Servers both running EXCH2013 CU5 as well as the Mailbox Server. All running on Windows 2012 R2. Everything is fine with the mail flow until at some point it isn't and there are no errors in the logs. From the edge transport itself I can see all services are running. I can see port 25 is listening on 0.0.0.0 and I can even telnet port 25 but from the outside it's as if it's dead to the world. I even turned off the firewall to see if it was a firewall issue but that's not the case.

If I reboot the server everything could be fine for a few hours or a few days but eventually it just stops receiving. The other edge server picks up everything just fine but eventually it would do the same thing if I wasn't being alerted by a service monitoring my smtp port and let me know that it isn't working so I know at that point I need to reboot the server.

Did anyone else have this issue and fix it?

New Deployment: Outlook Can Send but not Receiving Messages

We are in the process of setting up/testing a new installation of Exch 2013 for the first time. We created a Send Connector (Used MX records option) and left Receive connectors as is. We set up a test user in AD, then created mailbox with valid email address. We are using Outlook 2010 (on Windows7) to connect to Exchange, which was successful (use the automatic , not manual configure option).

From Outlook, we can send an email to external address successfully. We cannot receive an email. We check the webmail account provided by our email host and the email is in the account.

Note, with this same email host, we used the POP connector in EXCH2003 to get our email. We wanted to use SMTP to receive email in Exchange 2013. Could this be an issue at our email host (could they require POP connection)  OR is there a service will need to enable/add in EXCH and if so where is it?

Also, we used the Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer for this test user and both SMTP Inbound and SMTP Outbound passed.

One thing we just noticed is that the mailbox for the testuser must contain a few messages because of its usage report..Outlook just can't pick them up maybe...How can we tell if the mailbox has our test emails in it?

Another odd thing  is that within Outlook, under Mailbox Cleanup, it shows that the Inbox should has a size of 12KB, which would be about the size of our test messages to it:

Since our posting..we have looked at the mailbox using OWA and the Inbox has nothing in it there either. We tested internal email between this test user and the Administrator account and we can send and receive into the Inbox, both in OWA and Outlook, just fine...We did a search on the mailbox using the EAC and it did not find anything.

Reroute all mail from specific receive connector

This is for Exchange 2010.

We have a test web server that we need to test outgoing email on.  Obviously since this is a test server we want to limit where emails can go just in case something accidentally gets sent out wrong.

I have setup a receive connector on exchange to relay the messages but I need to filter where it can go.  We have other receive connectors setup for live data.  Is there a way to limit a specific receive connector to certain email addresses?  Or a way to forward all mail that comes in on a specific receive connector to a distribution list of emails?

Thanks

Exchange 2013 - Mail receive problem -Help!

Exchange 2013 SP1 -fresh install -test environment with one test mailbox setup in addition to the Administrator account. Using default Receive Connectors and it is set for Anonymous. Using OWA and Outlook 2010 for testing.

We can send/receive mail INTERNALLY in both Outlook & OWA between our test user and the Administrator user.

We can send mail externally from both accounts.

We are not receiving mail into the Inbox of either OWA or Outlook.

We are not seeing any authentication issues with Outlook -always shows connected to Exchange. But if we have same problem in OWA then we are just testing with it for now.

We ran the Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer for both Inbound and Outbound SMTP and it passed with no errors/warnings L

We did NSLOOKUP, from a Command prompt at the server wtith this result -not sure why it shows server as unknown?:

Transport rule based on content from HTML formatted emails

I've been trying to catch some really pesky spam from .RU that contain links in this format:

http://username.somedomain.ru/?53245abunchofnumbers342342

I've been trying to inspect them using text patterns ('http.*\.ru/\?') but it doesn't seem Exchange 2013 will even touch HTML formatted email content. I've even attempted to create a rule that just looks for "http" in the email and they still get past the rule. Is there an option I need to turn on in Exchange to actually inspect these types of emails? Maybe a different condition I need to set?  This has been driving mecrazy for the last few weeks. Please, any help is appreciated.

delay in receiving email

Hi,

All receiving mails(external only) are getting delayed in our organization but sending mails are working properly. for ex: im sending one mail from gmail at 09.00 am it is reaching  imsva server at 09.00.02 am and for scanning and some other process it is taking 3 to 4 seconds after the scan it has to reach exchange server.after passing the scan it is taking  5 to 10 minutes to deliver  that mail to exchange server.

Smtp relay server = Imsva trend micro.

All mails are passing through  Hardware load balancer (Radware)

gmail->smtp relay server(imsva)->hardware load balancer(Radware)->exchange server 2010
